Our venture into Ragdoll cats was
inspired by our wonderful “Molly.” Molly was a mixed breed cat with
siamese style markings. She behaved more like a dog, than a cat. She
came when called, she slept on the kids’ bed, she took walks with the
family. She was friendly to all people. When we lost her quite
suddenly to illness the family was devastated. How were we to find
another kitty who while still being a cat, had the temperament to be so
involved with the family and dogs. Molly was a great puppy socializer.
(Our pups went home with a healthy respect and affection for cats, which
was a great help with training in their new homes.)
After much research we settled on the “Ragdoll” breed of cats. Their name is derived from their laid-back nature, and ability to relax and be limp when picked up. They are calm and affectionate, and some even fetch toys. They love to greet their owners at the door, and follow them from room to room. Their semi-long coat is extremely soft and easy to care for. Shedding is minimal. They come in a variety of colors, however they are traditionally a pointed breed, meaning marked like siamese, with or without white mittens. They also come in bi-color. Ragmeister's Jett'n to Arete - "Jetta" Jetta is our first ragdoll and is exactly what we were looking for in a cat. We will never be without a Ragdoll. We are looking forward to providing other families the experience of loving these special cats.
Ragmeister's Get'n Chased at Arete - "Chase" Our
newest addition is Chase. Chase, a Blue Lynx-point Bi-Color
Ragdoll is from the same breeder as Jetta. He is however not
related to Jetta, so hopefully when he grows up he will find her
attractive, and vice-versa. Chase has been a wonderful addition to the
family, he is super sweet, |
