Sophie -Arete’s Sophie’s Choice: MACH3, FBM “Sophie” completed her MACH on May 22, 2005. After coming up short by one point four weeks prior, the chemistry of Sophie and Tracy took hold as she not only qualified, but double Qd on both days of the Simi Valley trial. Sophie is a love first and athlete second. She is our faithful princess, watching over Tracy, myself, Maximilian (our 12 year old male Golden), and their 3 year old Rosie.Sophie’s quest for MACH was a long journey beginning in 1999 as a diversion from flyball. A major break from May of 1999 to August 2000 to work out some teeter issues, she paused again from October 2001 to November 2002 to have a family - one litter of nine puppies (Rosie is on her way to becoming her heir apparent). Sophie’s passion for agility almost appears to be as deep as her devotion to our family. The communication Sophie and Tracy have is a thing of beauty and has translated into a wonderful relationship and great team. They have accomplished something very special together, and in the process have achieved Hall of Fame status with 6 doubleQ placements out of a total of 30 on the very competitive SoCal agility circuit. Special thanks to Lori Barbee and Anne Platt – they couldn’t have done it without you!
